Desiree Snelleman

Instructor

Desiree has been involved in agility since 2004 and is no stranger to the field of teaching and coaching. She has teaching and coaching credentials from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences, and also holds a degree in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine from San Diego State University.

Desiree gives seminars around the US and internationally, and also offers remote coaching as part of her own dog training business, Pace Agility. She has enjoyed working in variety of dog sports with many different breeds from Terriers, Malamutes, and Bloodhounds to Border Collies and Shelties.

She currently shares four dogs with her spouse, Daim, Pace, Cru, and Peak—all Border Collies. Her dogs have competed in Agility, Obedience, Rally, and Canine Nose Work, and have earned a number of titles and awards in several venues nationally and internationally.

When Desiree isn’t teaching or competing, you can find her and her dogs hiking in the magnificent and vast area surrounding Mt. Rainier in Washington.

I love to see the lights go on for both a handler and a dog. I believe that a great handler-dog relationship along with good communication and a strong positive reinforcement history are big parts of setting a great foundation for the team.
