Whether you’re looking for a new way to have fun with your dog, build confidence, burn energy, or explore competitive dog sports, Run Wild offers activities for every team. Our sports programs focus on strengthening the relationship between dogs and their handlers through engaging, reward-based training in a supportive environment. From recreational classes designed for enjoyment and enrichment to fast-paced team sports like Flyball, there are plenty of opportunities to learn new skills, stay active, and become part of the Run Wild community.

Sports for Fun

Would you like a more casual approach to dog sports?
We design these classes to appeal to both sporty and companion pups, and all of them offer great opportunities to build your dog's confidence, provide physical and mental stimulation, and strengthen your bond with one another while playing and having fun together.
These classes typically have no prerequisites and are open to all ages and breeds of dogs.
Classes are listed below in alphabetical order.
Intro to Agility
In this 6-week course, you and your dog will be introduced to jumps, tunnels, contact obstacles, and the weave poles. Learn how to change sides and even run a short course! Follow this class with our Agility for Fun class to become more proficient and learn more advanced handling. If you decide you'd like to compete, you can move into our 'competition' track classes. Your dog must be able to work with you around other dogs.

Sports Sampler
This 6-week class will let you try out a different dog sport each week! Rally-Obedience, Agility, Scentwork, Flyball, Freestyle & Disc. Prerequisite: One of our Manners classes (Companion Dog Manners, Rowdy to Well-Mannered, or Performance Manners) or get instructor permission. Contact us at training@runwilddogsports.com.

Tricks, Freestyle, and Rally for Fun
Learn foundations for fun new behaviors! Whether itβs to compete in sports or to just have a good time with your dog, this 6-week class will cover tricks, body awareness exercises, and heeling positions used in Rally, Rally Freestyle, and beyond. We can cover specific tricks you want to teach for Trick Dog titles, too! Some trick ideas include retrieving items, taking a bow, and walking backward around youβlet your imagination run wild!

Doggy Parkour
Doggy Parkour is a fun, interactive activity in which dogs can safely explore and conquer challenges found naturally in their everyday environment.

Scent Games
Scent Games is the perfect class for teams interested in a casual introduction to nosework. Dogs will learn to search for food using a series of fun games that you can practice on rainy days and in the comfort of your own home. No special tools or equipment needed!

Flyball
Flyball is a high-energy relay race dog sport featuring teams of four dogs. The goal is for each dog to leap over hurdles, trigger a ball-release box, and return with the tennis ball to their handler. Teams compete to finish the course error-free.
Combining speed, agility, and teamwork, Flyball is known for its dynamic atmosphere, with diverse teams of dogs. The sport promotes physical exercise, camaraderie among team members, and strengthens the bond between dogs and handlers.
Flyball competitions, organized globally, attract enthusiastic participation from dog lovers.
Sports Prep (Requirement)
The 6-week class is meant for teams planning to compete in dog sports. It helps build the foundation skills necessary to advance into agility, flyball, obedience, rally, or other sports. The class covers effective toy play techniques and food reinforcement to build and keep engagement. The reinforcement strategies will encourage both working close to the handler and moving away from the handler.
We will work on training techniques such as shaping, targeting, and chaining, shadow handling/circle work, and working on both sides of the handler. We will work on advanced sit/down stays, on and off-leash heeling, and recall skills with distractions. The class also covers strategies for managing arousal, focus, and understanding how to redirect dogs away from distractions.

Introduction to Flyball
In this 6-week class, you will learn about restrained recalls, dead ball retrieves, playing tug, an βoutβ command, team dog basics, wall work, and turning. You need a dog who is engaged in working with you and has a good toy and ball drive.

Flyball Practice
Flyball team practices are hosted through Cascade Comets Dog Sports Club. Limited spots are available and flyball experience and approval is required.
